Music has always played a big part in my private and professional life, and I have worked with and for music projects often. I have a degree in choir conducting and work with choirs and singers on stage often. Here’s an overview of the work I have done in music:
Conductor of several youth amateur choirs, including conducting and staging large performances and competitions
Director of theatre productions which contained moments of song (but were not musical theatre productions)
Director of several musical theatre productions with youth amateur groups
Producer for large choral happenings on location by composer Merlijn Twaalfhoven
Assistant director Dutch National Opera
Company Manager Musical Dreamgirls
For the examination performances of my degree in choir conducting, I also conducted a small orchestra.
My own singing voice is alto. I have performed the role of Kate in Pirates of Penzance, and as a choir singer I sang with Irish choir Anuna (Dublin) at their Summer School, and I took part in performances with folk band the Unthanks (Newcastle). I also regularly take workshops and lessons organised by the English Folk and Dance Society.
Next to this I have experience in performing improv songs, plus I play the cello.
