MARY SHELLEY LIVES HERE (2024)
CREATOR

This live VR show tells the story of Mary Shelley’s ‘The Last Man’, a dystopian book about friendship in a dying world. Players lightly participate as Mary’s friends and visit her on her island (in VR Chat).

Part of PXR, FIVARS, and ELO25, this emotional show is still performed on and off for international audiences.

LAST ONE STANDING (2023)
CREATOR

You enter a room. There is a mobile phone, and a list of names. Who will you call? This site specific show is a phone call for one person to the last remaining survivors of real-life disasters and triumphs.

A show with a digital aspect, as guests can share their feelings in the ‘Mailbox of Solace’. Performed by a wonderful cast of live actors. Nominated ‘Most Playful’ At Play24 in Hamburg.

RABBIT HOLE (2023)
NARRATIVE AND GAME DESIGN

In a unique cross-media environment, the boundaries between online and offline are completely blurred. Through their mobile phones, the audience is part of the chat forums which the isolated Samy, main character of the story, visits. Do you follow him into the Rabbit Hole? Or do you stay out?

Helping Dutch Theatre company De Toneelmakerij tackle this unique project was huge. The show earned an award for its digital scenography and we wrote a case study about the use of narrative design in theatre to reach new/younger audiences.

IMAGINE: THINGS TO COME (2019) & HERO’S JOURNEY (2018)
EXHIBIT AND EVENT DESIGN

Horror, sci-fi and fantasy film festival Imagine (Amsterdam) was looking for ways to make their event feel more intimate and exciting, while taking place in a huge, clean, light building. For two years in a row, I worked with students in spatial, game and fashion design and commissioned new artworks to support the themes and styles of the festival.

Being able to coach students and artists in developing new site-specific work was incredibly rewarding and enjoyable. And the festival audience enjoyed it as well! Transforming a space into a place of welcome and wonder is one of the best things.
