I’ve been involved with the Imagine Filmfestival for several years now, as curator Public Space (exhibits, design, interactive) and programmer for our ‘Expanded’ programme (games, VR, interactive). This year, Imagine is once again fully online. This is what you can expect between 7-17 of April:
Level Up is our talkshow in which we discuss new and upcoming games in the sci-fi, horror and fantasy genre. Usually we focus on games from the Netherlands and Belgium, but this year we’re also programming several Indonesian games to coincide with our Indonesian festival theme.
Gamedesign students from the HKU (Utrecht, the Netherlands) have been designing a new game commissioned by Imagine. Their game is inspired by one of our themes, ‘the Body’, and they will be testing a vertical slice during the festival. The full game will be finished in June. A link to the vertical slice will appear here at the start of the festival.
The talkshow about Indonesian pop culture is promising to be a very interesting one. Free of charge, so get your ticket here. Lots of examples of horror folklore and visual arts by talented young artists who are inspired by traditional stories.
